Qui potrete trovare tante nozioni sul mondo dei ratti, sulle loro abitudini, la corretta gestione in casa, il rapporto con l’uomo e non per ultima la possibilità di adottare qualche bisognoso.
Sì, perchè con la massiccia diffusione del ratto come pet nelle case degli italiani, sono iniziati anche gli abbandoni e le cessioni, ed è proprio per questo motivo, che alla fine del 2013, abbiamo deciso di fondare un’associazione per aiutare questi animali, spesso bistrattati ed associati a malattie pericolose per l’uomo.
“Associazione Italiana Ratti-Rat Rescue Italia ODV” è un’associazione non profit regolarmente registrata, basata sul volontariato, la prima in Italia che si occupa di recuperare i ratti abbandonati o non più voluti dai proprietari, e per ognuno di loro si impegna a trovare delle famiglie amorevoli che li accolgano e se ne occupino per sempre.

Rat Rescue Italia ODV is a non-profit association born and active throughout Italy. Our first main goal is to rescue rats, sometimes from dramatic situations, more often from families which can’t keep them any longer for very different reasons. We make sure these unfortunate pets find a new, hopefully permanent, home. In addition, we share information about fancy rats’ care and needs, because we believe that knowledge can help a person to make more considerate and responsible choices when it comes to adopt an animal. This helps people to understand whether they are able to give a rat the perfect life or it is not the right pet for their family. And in so doing the number of abandoned animals will be reduced.
The birth of our non-profit association is tightly connected to a specific event dated back to 2013: a feeder-rat breeder was shutting down his business and was looking for someone interested in taking his last unsold rats for free. The news of those 30 rats started spreading in the socials, until finally grabbed the attention of some of us, already in love with these unusual pets and individually active in sharing proper information about them. We therefore decided to band together and rescue this first group of unwanted rats, soon followed by many others. That was the very beginning of our activity as a registered association.
Here in Rat Rescue Italia ODV we make sure every rat ( but never alone!) finds its forever and loving home.
